Hi, I visited Tajpur last year. We stayed at Mandarmuni but visited the Tajpur beach from Mandarmuni. It’s hardly 20 mins from Mandarmuni. If you are coming from Mandarmuni, you have to return to Chaulkhola and then take the highway for another five minutes or so to reach Balusai and turn left. You would find a long stretch of high embankment at the side of the road when you leave Chaulkhola. Balusai more is located where the embankment ends. Take left from the Highway and drive through Bheris and villages for another 15 minutes to reach the Tajpur beach.
Tajpur is actually the extension of Mandarmuni beach after the river meets the Bay of Bengal. However, you have to cross a dense Casuarina grove and a jungle of Keya plants through a mud path to reach Tajpur beach. Your car can move through this mud path but there are high chances of getting stuck. The beach is magnificent – totally empty, huge and inverted crescent shaped giving a full view of the ocean.
You would find some new hotels and guesthouses before the Casuarina grove. I really don’t know much about their facilities and quality because I didn’t stay there. You would find few fisherman at the beach and a few shacks selling tea, biscuits and coconut. There is also an adventure tour operator offering Rafting and Paragliding services. I didn’t take any of them but there were few tourists enjoying the rafting.
