Places to see in Biksthang: The destination is primarily popular among the tourists for offering the majestic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. The place is located close to Pelling and the tourists can visit the regular sightseeing options of Pelling from Biksthang. Apart from offering majestic views of Mt. Kanchenjungha, Pelling has a number of monasteries like Dubdi Monastery, Sanga Choeling Monastery, Tashiding Monastery and Pemayangste Monastery. The spectacular sight of the Khecheopalri Lake is also admirable. Biksthang is also near to the splendid Khangchendzonga Falls and the Shinshore Bridge and Temi Tea Garden.

Nearby attractions of Biksthang: Two major sightseeing locations around Biksthang are Pelling and Rinchenpong. Rinchenpong is one of the latest additions in the list of nearby attractions around Sikkim. While making tour to Rinchenpong, a visit to the Poison Pokhri or Poison Lake is a “must” for all travelers. Just opposite to the pond, you will find a stony staircase leading towards the forest trail that will lead you to Rinchenpong Monastery, built in 1717. The monastery houses an idol of Ati Buddha in the position of Yub-Yum. Some other notable nearby attractions are Lhentse monastery, Rahu Ney (Caves) and Phursachu (Hot Spring).

Things to do in Biksthang: The surrounding area of Rahu Ney caves and Lhentse monastery is ideal for horse riding. You can also enjoy some boating and river rafting at the nearby dam. Village tours are also organized by the resort at Biksthang around the amazing surrounding of West Sikkim.

How to reach Biksthang: Biksthang nestled between Jorethang and Legship, is located at a distance of 124 km from Bagdogra airport and 120 km from the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Arrangements can be made on prior request by the resorts at Biksthang to provide pick up service from New Jalpaiguri or Bagdogra.  Biksthang is also well connected by motorable roads. You can drive from Siliguri through Teesta to reach Melli. Then take a turn towards Jorethang and instead of turning toward Darjeeling, drive further to reach this beautiful destination in West Sikkim. You can also reach the destination via Gangtok, located at a distance of 119 km.

Best time to visit Biksthang: You can visit Biksthang any time of the year. However, to savor the best views of Mt. Kanchenjungha, the ideal time of visiting the place is from October to February.
