Jorepokhri – at 7400 feet above sea level, you have a lovely wooden cottage in the lap of the mighty Himalayas surrounded by dense pine forests. The magnificent Mt. Kanchendzonga – the third highest mountain stands in front of you – and two small lakes where a few swans are taking their leisurely swim witness the spectacle with you. The lakes are the breeding areas for the endangered Himalayan Salamanders.

Hello,
I went to Jorepokhri 3 years ago. Just loved the place and the staff at the DGHC accommodation. I have some tips to share …
1. Try out breakfast in the Cottage’s lawn with a view of the beautiful mountains.
2. Catch a glimpse of Kurseong and Bagdogra Airport at night from the cottage’s lawn.
3. There is no need to visit Mirik separately from Jorepokhri, instead you can visit Mirik while returning from Jorepokhri. Mirik falls enroute.
4. You can always come to Jorepokhri before taking up your treks from Sukhiapokhri.
Regards, Dipti
